Coffee Cream Liqueur

Makes 750 ml 

1 ¼ cup alcohol (whisky / vodka / brandy)

1 x 385 g condensed milk

2/3 cup Ideal milk (1/2 x 380g tin)

6 teaspoons Caramel essence

2 teaspoons instant coffee powder

 

Blitz all together.  Pour into bottles. 

(This will keep on shelf for month.  Or just keep it in fridge – shake before use.)

Raw oats, coffee and nut butter energy balls

1 cup raw oats

1/4 cup honey

1/4 cup peanut butter (other nut butter)

2 tablespoons cacao powder

pinch of salt

2 tablespoons instant coffee powder

 

In processor, blend oats to a powder.  Add all the other ingredients.*

Wet your hands. Use a tablespoon to scoop out dough and roll between your palms to form balls.  Refrigerate.

Store in the fridge for up to 1 week or in the freezer for up to 3 months.

*If your dough is a little too dry, add more honey.


 

Amish-style coffee soup

4 cups hot coffee
4 slices bread — toasted
sugar
cream

Brew the coffee according to your taste.     Break each slice of bread into 1-inch pieces and place in four serving bowls.    Fill each bowl with steaming coffee.    Add sugar and cream to your taste and stir. Serve hot.

Milktart (melktert) cookies and coffee cookies

 

 MILK TART (melktert) cookies

Makes 20, depending on size


7 tablespoons oil

1 large egg

1 cup self raising flour

1 teaspoon vanilla essence

1 level teaspoon cinnamon powder

1 heaped teaspoon custard powder

1/2 cup white sugar

 

Preheat oven to 170 oC.  Spray baking sheet.  Mix all together, form walnut-size balls and place on baking sheet (not too close, they do spread – 4 in a row (shorter side of sheet) is fine).  Bake for 12 minutes.  Let cool.  Sandwich together with COFFEE cookies using ganache or frosting.

1/2 cup white sugar
