Celebrating Valerie’s birthday on Friday evening, we had to choose between driving to Centurion Doornkloof mall in the USUALLY HORRIBLE FRIDAY TRAFFIC – or take the Gautrain.  We chose the train.  From our house we Uber’ed to Brightwater Commons, hopped onto the Gautrain bus to Sandton.  At Sandton Gautrain station … eeeeek, those escalators going down are HORRIBLE!  They are really long ones and they go REALLY FAST downwards!!!!  I clutched Hein’s arm like mad and then we hopped onto the Gautrain to Centurion Gautrain station.

Hein’s brother fetched us and we drove to Delizioso (http://www.delizioso.co.za/) Restaurant in the Doornkloof Mall.  Our tables were outside under umbrellas and after an initial scare with a few raindrops, we settled in for a really good time.  The food is actually great (although I only tasted our pizza), but I must say the Carbonara pasta looked amazing!!!!  We ordered a Meat pizza and it was yummy … lots of meat on top and a thin, crisp base.

Browsing the dessert menu,  nothing jumped out except I saw interesting milkshakes … Peanut butter milkshake, Kit Kat milkshake, Oreo milkshake.  Luckily the owner was known

to Valerie & Deon and I asked him … pretty please, can you maybe make me a Peanut Butter Oreo milkshake?  No problem.  He charged me a little bit more and it was DELICIOUS!!!!!!

Around 10pm we said our goodbyes, walked out, ordered an Uber car and was leisurely (and not that expensively) driven back to our home.
