We had a braai ‘date’ on a Sunday at 2pm – in Centurion Golf
Estate, with my in-laws. Since Hein has been using the Gautrain-bus and
Gautrain on a regular basis, he suggested we make a trip on that Sunday …
So
our 1st leg … we drove my car to Centurion Gautrain station.
We boarded the Gautrain to Rosebank! Walked around a
bit, got some interesting keyrings for earrings and stopped at the Piza e Vino
for lunch. (https://pizaevino.co.za/rosebank/)
Oh my goodness!! The décor is rusty with tin walls and different styles of mirrors on the other wall. We sat in the shade, watching people … and did we have fun!!! Dressed up people, dressed down people, weirdly dressed people …
A plate with miniature Focaccia’s were placed in front of us
– with an eggplant (Babaganoush) dip and tomato relish. Wow, these little
Focaccia’s were yummmmmmy!!!
Looking at the menu, we decided on a selection of starters.
BUT THE BESTEST OF THEM ALL ... was the Polpetta Farcita (a giant meatball stuffed with spinach & mozzarella, served with AMAZING creamy Parmesan Napoletana sauce!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ) It was pure and utterly heaven on a plate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Served with crispy bread slices. Next time, we
will order that with just plain fettuccini / spaghetti … it will be
great! But funny enough, there’s a branch in Eagle’s Landing,
Weltevreden, and I didn’t see this on their menu …. (sad face).
After a fabulous lunch, we walked back to the station, back
on the Gautrain all the way to Centurion … and drove to our braai.
